Outdoor Fire Pit Safety

.) Place fire pit on level ground in an open area at least 15' from all buildings or structures and at least 10' from property lines.

.) Before lighting, remove any combustible materials such as mulch, brush, leaves, and pine needles from around the pit.

.) Do not use lighter fluid or gasoline as fire accelerants.

.) Keep fire suppression equipment close: a lid, fire extinguisher, garden hose, water buckets, and or sand.

.) Stop adding wood to the fire one hour before you move indoors, allowing the embers to die down with supervision.
